SK Broadband said on the 1st it will launch a new subscription plan, "B tv+ max," which adds terrestrial network content from the three major broadcasters to the existing B tv monthly plan "B tv+."
B tv+ max offers more than 300,000 videos on demand (VOD), including terrestrial broadcast content from KBS, MBC, and SBS, as well as general programming channels, cable, movies, kids, animation, and documentaries. It also lets users access 255 live channels available on B tv.
SK Broadband noted that as more users subscribe to multiple over-the-top (OTT) services at the same time, the burden of searching for content and of fees has grown. The company said B tv+ max improves convenience by letting users access domestic broadcast content, live channels, and popular VODs in one place.
When the TV is turned on, the plan takes users straight to a dedicated home screen, and viewers can continue watching on the mobile B tv app what they were watching on TV. Up to four mobile devices can be used.
With a three-year contract, the monthly fee is 25,300 won for IPTV-only, 23,100 won when bundled with internet, and 22,000 won when bundled with internet and SK Telecom mobile service. A 2,000-won monthly discount on YouTube Premium is also offered.
To mark the launch, SK Broadband will run a giveaway for new subscribers through the end of September, offering prizes such as Korean Air Lines gift cards, hotel stay vouchers, Lotte World day passes, and coffee coupons.
