Qualcomm Technologies said on the 1st that it is recruiting domestic graduate students to take part in the science and engineering academic paper competition "Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship Korea 2026."
This year's program topics are ▲ Edge AI ▲ autonomous driving ▲ agentic AI. Eligible applicants are graduate students enrolled in a regular master's or doctoral program at a university in Korea for the 2025–2026 academic year. Applicants should select one of the subfields related to the topics and submit a research paper. The submission deadline is Aug. 15. During the program, participants can discuss and get advice on their paper topics and ideas through knowledge exchanges with Qualcomm researchers.
Submitted papers will pass a first-round review by Qualcomm's evaluation panel and advance to the presentation and poster sessions. The first round evaluates criteria such as the innovation and creativity of the ideas, research comprehension and experimental results, and potential for further research, and up to 30 teams that pass will be subject to the final review. In November, Qualcomm plans to select up to 15 final winning teams and deliver scholarships of 4 million won per team to their affiliated schools.
Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship Korea is an academic paper competition aimed at supporting research activities by science and engineering talent in Korea. Based on innovation, execution, and teamwork, Qualcomm has held the competition annually since 2020 to encourage high-potential science and engineering graduate students to produce results and to promote the development of the AI ecosystem and future technologies.
Kim Sang-pyo, president of Qualcomm Korea, said, "To expand the global Edge AI developer ecosystem, Qualcomm provides a variety of technical content and programs across IoT, AI, compute, XR, and data center workloads," and added, "Grounded in the core values of innovation, execution, and teamwork, we are focused on discovering, supporting, and mentoring master's and doctoral students across a broad range of technical research fields through the Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship. We hope this program helps graduate students take a leap toward achieving their research goals."
