LG Electronics is launching the new portable screen "LG StanbyME 2 Max" in global markets. It will first roll out in Korea with a 32-inch 4K model and then target key markets in North America, Europe and Asia.
LG Electronics said on the 1st it will begin rolling out the LG StanbyME 2 Max in the United States and Canada this month, followed by France, Italy and Taiwan in Aug. The company will step up its push in the portable screen market with a product that boosts screen size and picture quality, following last year's launch of the "LG StanbyME 2" in global markets.
The LG StanbyME 2 Max launched first in Korea in Apr. During a live broadcast celebrating the launch on LG Electronics' online brand shop, all 200 units in the initial batch sold out in 45 minutes. Concurrent viewers of the broadcast exceeded 570,000.
The new model features a 32-inch touch display, about 40% larger than the existing 27-inch model. It supports 4K UHD (3840×2160) resolution. The company said it reflects customer demand for a larger screen and sharper picture quality.
LG Electronics launched "LG StanbyME" in 2021, "LG StanbyME GO" in 2023 and "LG StanbyME 2" in 2025. This year, it added the LG StanbyME 2 Max, expanding its lineup of portable screens.
Picture and sound processing performance also improved. The LG StanbyME 2 Max is powered by the third-generation Alpha 8 processor. Artificial intelligence (AI) analyzes video and audio to deliver picture and sound suited to the content. The Alpha 8 AI Super Upscaling 4K feature enhances lower-resolution content with greater clarity.
It also supports Dolby technologies. Dolby Vision boosts visual expression, while Dolby Atmos provides immersive audio. The product targets demand for enjoying movies, over-the-top (OTT) services and music content on a portable screen.
Mobility and ease of use were also strengthened. The built-in battery capacity has increased to 144Wh, allowing up to 4 hours and 30 minutes of use without a power connection. The screen detaches from the stand with the press of a button. Users can use the product like a tablet PC or switch between landscape and portrait to suit the content.
Content services were also expanded. The LG StanbyME 2 Max supports "LG Channels," LG Electronics' ad-supported free streaming TV (FAST) service. For the first time in the StanbyME series, it also includes the art content service "LG Gallery+." Users can display more than 5,000 artworks on the screen to decorate their space.
The LG StanbyME 2 Max won an Innovation Award in the content and entertainment category at CES 2026, the world's largest home appliance and IT exhibition, in Jan. The company said it was recognized for delivering a product experience that combines screen size, picture quality and mobility.
Lee Chung-hwan, head of the display division (executive vice president) at LG Electronics, said, "By leading with the LG StanbyME 2 Max, which we completed by reflecting customers' desire for a larger screen, enhanced picture quality and strengthened mobility, we will further solidify our leadership in the global portable screen market."
