LG Display cut last year's greenhouse gas emissions by 67% from 2018, surpassing its 2030 reduction target. It expanded product life cycle environmental impact assessments and strengthened support for suppliers and its information security management system.
LG Display said it published the "2026 ESG report," detailing the results of last year's environment, social and governance (ESG) management activities and future strategies. This year's publication is the 15th.
The environment area includes climate response, resource circulation, hazardous substances and product responsibility. The social field consists of safety at business sites, support for suppliers, human rights management and human capital. The governance institutional sector addresses stakeholder communication and a transparent disclosure system. The company newly added information security as a core area in this year's report.
The company cited greenhouse gas reduction as a key achievement in the environment field. LG Display expanded related facility investments and optimized facility operations based on artificial intelligence transformation (AX), cutting last year's emissions by 67% from 2018. That reduction rate is 14 percentage points higher than the 2030 target of 53%.
The centerpiece of managing product eco-friendliness is expanding life cycle assessment (LCA). The company built a new information technology (IT) system in 2024 to improve the accuracy of data collection and analysis, and last year expanded the scope to 68% of all products sold.
In the social field, the company ran programs for suppliers. It conducted training on the "ESG supply chain code of conduct" for suppliers. Through this, it helps transaction corporations establish safe working conditions and comply with environmental and ethical standards.
It is also continuing win-win cooperation. LG Display is operating supplier support programs in finance, technology and medical welfare. The company said it aims to strengthen supplier competitiveness and contribute to building a horizontal, mutually beneficial ecosystem among primary, secondary and tertiary suppliers.
In governance, it emphasized ethical and compliance management and transparency. LG Display expanded the scope of internal reports through a compliance reporting process improvement project last year. It added information security as a core area, judging that its importance has grown in the management environment.
It also delivered results in external evaluations. LG Display was included for the third straight year in the Asia Pacific index of S&P Global's Dow Jones Best-in-Class (DJBIC) assessment. In the sustainability assessment by global ESG rating agency EcoVadis, it received the Platinum rating, awarded to the top 1% corporations, for the second consecutive year.
