Samsung Electronics unveiled education solutions using artificial intelligence (AI) at North America's largest edtech exhibition, moving to target the global smart education market.
Samsung Electronics said it showcased new software solutions for interactive whiteboards at "ISTE Live 2026," held for four days starting on the 28th (local time) at the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) in Orlando, Florida.
ISTE Live, organized by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), is North America's largest edtech exhibition, drawing more than 500 corporations and about 17,000 education stakeholders from over 80 countries.
At this event, Samsung Electronics introduced the "Samsung Account Management Solution (AMS)" to create teacher-specific customized learning environments and the "Samsung AI Assistant App" to boost learning focus and expand education accessibility. The two solutions apply to currently sold Samsung interactive whiteboards running the Android operating system (OS).
The Samsung account management solution is a cloud-based service that manages individual teacher profiles. Teachers can easily sign in by scanning a QR code or tagging an NFC card, and they can load their preferred screen layouts, app settings, and learning materials the same way in any classroom.
It is characterized by providing a personalized user experience even in environments where multiple teachers share an interactive whiteboard. Through the "Samsung Education Portal" for education institution information technology (IT) administrators, hundreds of devices and teacher accounts can be centrally managed. The solution is set to roll out via a software update starting in July.
The Samsung AI Assistant App comes preinstalled on Android-based Samsung interactive whiteboards. It offers features such as "Circle to Search," which searches for related information when you circle an image or text on the screen; "Live Transcript," which converts a teacher's voice into text in real time; "AI Summary," which automatically organizes lesson content; and "AI Quiz," which generates questions based on learning material.
In particular, the live transcription feature is expected to improve learning accessibility for students in diverse educational environments, such as students with hearing impairments or those from multicultural families, by providing multilingual speech as real-time captions.
Teachers can use the AI Quiz feature to create quizzes based on actual lesson content and check students' comprehension in real time. When linked with the Samsung account management solution, teachers can also immediately use AI summary materials generated in prior classes and learning materials stored in the cloud.
Vice President Kim Hyeong-jae of Samsung Electronics' Visual Display Business said, "As digital education environments become more advanced, innovation centered on user experience is becoming more important than the devices themselves," adding, "Through Samsung's interactive whiteboards for education, we will provide a more flexible and seamless learning environment for both teachers and students."
