KT Cloud will ramp up cloud services for public institutions based on its next-generation, in-house developed cloud platform.

KT Cloud said on the 29th that it has completed building a public cloud applying "kt cloud PLATFORM" and will unveil services for public institutions.

kt cloud PLATFORM is a cloud platform designed to integrate the operation of virtual servers and containers in a single environment. By applying a Kubernetes-based OpenStack architecture, it boosts flexibility in resource deployment, scaling, and operations management. Customers can consistently manage cloud resources and security policies from a single management screen, reducing operational burden. By adopting an open-source-based structure, it also lowers dependence on any specific vendor's technology.

With this buildout, public institutions can sequentially leverage a long-distance multi-region linking Seoul and North Gyeongsang, and a short-distance multi-AZ environment between Yongsan and Mok-dong. Even if a failure occurs at a specific data center or system, services can continue through other regions and availability zones, addressing disaster recovery and high-availability requirements, the company said.

Generative AI infrastructure is also provided. Public institutions can flexibly use resources needed for AI training and inference in a cloud environment certified under CSAP.

KT Cloud plans to expand the platform's application scope to the private market based on its build and operations experience gained in the public sector. Chief Executive Kim Bong-gyun of KT Cloud said, "We will support stable cloud transitions and AI utilization by public institutions and expand services into the private sector."

Along with the service launch, KT Cloud will also hold a webinar on July 7 on the topic of continuous cloud operations strategy.
