LG Electronics will provide practical training in smart factories, AI transformation (AX), and digital marketing for young people preparing for jobs. The aim is to help strengthen their employability by offering work experience in future industry fields.
LG Electronics said on the 29th it has launched a hands-on training program, "Let's Grow with LG Electronics," and is recruiting the first cohort of trainees. The program is part of the "K-New Deal Academy," a youth job training initiative promoted with domestic corporations by the Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL) and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources. It aims to support young people's job skills development and career planning through corporation-led practical training and on-site programs.
The training will be offered in non-capital regions such as Busan, Daegu, and Daejeon to expand participation opportunities for local youth. Young job seekers ages 15 to 34 who can attend training in those areas are eligible to apply.
The curriculum consists of three tracks: smart factory, AX, and digital marketing. The smart factory track covers content to deepen practical understanding of manufacturing sites, including manufacturing processes, automation systems, equipment operation, and use of production data.
The AX track covers defining problems based on data and solving them with AI. Trainees will work on projects linked to real work based on LG Electronics' business processes. The digital marketing track focuses on data-driven marketing practice, including content planning, social media (SNS) channel operations, online ad execution, and performance analysis.
LG Electronics will recruit first-cohort participants through on the 13th of next month. Final trainees will be selected through document screening and interviews. Starting in August, those selected will receive commuter-based training for 11 weeks at regional training centers in Daegu, Daejeon, and Busan.
Trainees will also take part in a residential program at the LG Electronics Learning Center in LG Digital Park in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province. Through this, they can directly experience LG Electronics' corporate culture and ways of working. The second round of training is scheduled to begin in November.
Participants can join the program with no tuition burden. LG Electronics plans to ensure the training experience translates into job competitiveness by offering practical projects, job-preparation programs, and portfolio support. An LG Electronics official said, "We focused on providing project experience tied to actual work so young people can respond to the rapidly changing industrial environment," and added, "We will help practice-ready talent who will lead future industries to grow."
