LG Electronics will release two new models of the modular dwellings "LG Smart Cottage" on the 29th. Smart Cottage is a prefabricated residential product that applies LG Electronics' home appliances and HVAC technologies.
The new products are single-story models in the 20-pyeong range, "MONO Core 72" and "MONO Core 82." Their areas are 72.9㎡ and 82.1㎡, respectively, roughly 22 pyeong and 24 pyeong. Both products consist of two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a bathroom, and MONO Core 82 expands one of the bedrooms compared with MONO Core 72.
LG Electronics said it expanded the usable area and lowered the price per pyeong compared with existing products by reflecting customer feedback and market demand. Including VAT, prices start at 199.5 million won for MONO Core 72 and 223.5 million won for MONO Core 82. The final price varies depending on the selected options and installation conditions.
The new models are designed for use not only as residential spaces but also as commercial spaces such as corporations' training centers and leisure and lodging facilities. Customers can choose furniture and storage configurations, appliances and Internet of Things (IoT) devices, floor plans, and exterior materials. The entrance orientation and roof type can also be adjusted to suit the installation environment.
Standard specifications include the artificial intelligence (AI) home hub "ThinQ On," a smart door lock, smart switches, a system air conditioner, and a condensing boiler. Additional options include AI appliances, ventilation solutions, and solar panels.
LG Electronics enabled users to virtually select the installation site, product type, furniture packages, and exterior and interior finishes through its website and check the estimated expense. If on-site inspection is requested, a dedicated manager will visit to advise on delivery availability, land conditions, and contract procedures.
To let customers experience the new products, LG Electronics will exhibit the MONO Core 72 at the Hyundai Premium Outlet Gimpo branch for two months starting on the 29th. Visitors can book in advance for a one-on-one docent tour and consultation.
With this launch, the LG Smart Cottage lineup has expanded to a total of eight models: 8 pyeong, 14 pyeong, 16 pyeong, 22 pyeong, and 24 pyeong. The products are produced using a prefab method in which over 70% of key materials are pre-manufactured at the factory and then assembled on-site. LG Electronics said this can shorten the construction period compared with conventional reinforced concrete methods.
