LG Uplus will partner with power generation equipment specialist GnC energy to enhance the stability of power infrastructure at artificial intelligence (AI) data centers (AIDC).
LG Uplus said on the 28th that it signed a business agreement with GnC energy to strengthen cooperation in AIDC power infrastructure.
AIDC must keep large-scale computing equipment running continuously, so stable power supply is crucial. In particular, emergency generators and power facilities to continue server operations during blackouts or power disruptions are considered key infrastructure.
The two companies plan to cooperate across LG Uplus' AIDC power infrastructure initiatives, including emergency generators supplied to the LG Uplus Paju AIDC now under construction in Paju, Gyeonggi Province. They will also establish a system to supply and respond to key equipment in a timely manner and jointly review equipment standardization measures with future data center additions and expansions in mind.
LG Uplus expects the partnership to help enhance capabilities for uninterrupted data center operations. The company said it has maintained 99.999% data center operational stability over the past 27 years.
