After Samsung Electronics' "with the people, Samsung Electronics thanks festival," the number of customers visiting Samsung Stores nationwide rose sharply. A benefit that returns a portion of the purchase amount for Samsung Electronics products as a digital Onnuri gift certificate led to more visits to stores and online.
Samsung Electronics said on the 26th that since the event began, visitors to Samsung Stores increased an average of 75% from a year earlier. Some stores saw visitor numbers grow by up to twofold. Visitors to Samsung.com also increased by more than 200%.
The event has been underway for four weeks since on the 8th and ends on Aug. 5. Samsung Electronics prepared the event to share achievements in semiconductors for the artificial intelligence (AI) era with customers and to help revitalize local economies.
The event is being held at about 400 Samsung Stores nationwide and at around 1,000 on- and offline locations including Hi-Mart, E-MART, and department stores. Customers who purchase Samsung Electronics products during the event can receive 20% of the purchase amount in digital Onnuri gift certificates. Military personnel, police, firefighters, and correctional officers receive an additional 10% for a total benefit of 30%.
Products most sought by consumers include smartphones, washing machines, refrigerators, TVs, and air conditioners. Among customers with demand for newlywed appliances, the "Bespoke AI Steam" robot vacuum is also drawing interest. If purchased by subscription, customers can receive digital Onnuri gift certificates equal to 20% of the purchase amount and 12 months of subscription fee support.
Selections of the "AI subscription club" also increased threefold compared with before the event. When buying multiple products together, choosing a subscription can reduce the initial cost burden. Samsung Electronics is offering up to 6–12 months of subscription fee support to customers who join the AI subscription club during the event.
Digital Onnuri gift certificates can be used at affiliated merchants such as traditional markets and small businesses in neighborhood shopping districts nationwide. Instead of directly discounting product prices, Samsung Electronics provides Onnuri gift certificates so that customer benefits translate into local spending. Samsung Electronics plans to expand supplies of popular products until the event ends and strengthen operations to ensure there are no disruptions to customer purchases.
