Naver has officially launched its artificial intelligence (AI)-based conversational search service "AI Tab." It comes two months after a beta launch for Naver Plus Membership users in Apr.
According to Naver on the 25th, Naver officially launched "AI Tab" for all users starting today. The rollout of the official version is being carried out sequentially from today.
AI Tab is a service that converses with users, understands intent and context, and finds the optimal results. It provides answers that reflect user context for broad questions like "What should I do with my girlfriend tomorrow?" as well as complex requests like "Among cafes good for studying in Gangnam, recommend places with outlets and many reviews saying the seats are spacious."
In particular, it is connected with Naver's core services such as Shopping, Place, Blog, and Cafe, allowing users to view information on a single screen. For example, if asked, "Tell me a cafe near Hwadamsup that's good for a date and has a nice view," AI Tab analyzes Naver Place information, visitor reviews, and blog posts to guide users on the cafe's atmosphere and actual visitor reactions. Users can proceed directly to Naver Place reservations without leaving AI Tab.
"Green Dot," which appeared in 2018, will be discontinued for the first time in six years with this update. The green circular "Green Dot" on the first screen of the Naver app supported image-, voice-, and location-based search.
