LG Uplus said on the 25th it launched an IPTV bundle based on Apple iPad, "U+tv Free5 for iPad."
U+tv Free for iPad is a product that lets users access IPTV services on iPad. In the U+tv Free lineup that LG Uplus has offered by combining IPTV and tablets, it is the first to apply a device based on iPadOS. By adding iPad to a lineup previously centered on Android tablets, it broadened customers' device choices.
The device applied to this product is "Apple iPad A16." Equipped with Wi-Fi 6 and a Liquid Retina display, it allows viewers to watch live broadcasts and VOD content in clear picture quality. It also supports touch-based screen control and voice search, improving ease of use. In addition to IPTV viewing, it can be used as a general tablet for learning and work.
The service can be used at homes that activate the iPad A16 device through LG Uplus and install a designated Wi-Fi router. If customers subscribe to U+ Internet 1G and the U+tv Premium plan with a three-year contract, they can watch U+tv on the iPad A16 Wi-Fi 128GB model for 9,900 won per month.
LG Uplus expects the product to be an alternative for one- to two-person households, family members who want to watch individually, and customers looking to reduce the burden of installing additional TVs. Customers can subscribe at Uplus stores nationwide, through the customer center, a technician visit, or activation via courier.
