Shinsegae I&C will release console packages for two publishing game intellectual properties (IP).
Shinsegae I&C said on the 23rd that it will unveil Nintendo and PlayStation 5 (PS5) packages for Dreamotion's "My Little Puppy" and Studio Doodal's "Solateria."
These games were first released on Steam, the global PC game platform, where they received "Overwhelmingly Positive" and "Very Positive" reviews, respectively, verifying their quality. After signing a global exclusive publishing deal last year for the console packages of the two titles, Shinsegae I&C planned everything from the package components to domestic and overseas distribution strategies, taking into account each IP's craftsmanship and fandom characteristics.
My Little Puppy is a narrative-driven single-player adventure game inspired by the story that "when a person dies, the dog that went first comes out to greet them." Players become "Bong-gu," a Welsh Corgi staying in dog heaven beyond the Rainbow Bridge, and embark on a journey to greet the owner who has just set foot on the road to the afterlife.
It will be officially released on the 25th and will come exclusively to Nintendo and PS5. It will be available in two editions, a first edition and a limited edition. The first edition includes the game title and a lenticular postcard. The limited edition includes the game title, a lenticular postcard, a handkerchief, a keyring, and stickers. This package is expected to be listed not only on domestic channels but also on Playasia, a Hong Kong online retailer specializing in games.
Solateria is a 2D action-adventure game based on hand-drawn artwork. Players become a small fire spirit born into a dying world and set out on a quest to find the "first flame," the only hope to save it. Its core is parry-centered combat—nullifying or countering attacks with precise timing against powerful foes—and exploration across a vast world.
It will be released on the 23rd of next month exclusively for Nintendo, and the package will come in two editions: a first edition and a limited edition. The first edition includes two popular-character lenticular cards and will retail for 34,800 won. The limited edition includes an art map, marker stickers, a near-field communication (NFC)-linked OST keyring, a mini keycap, and an acrylic diorama, among other items.
The My Little Puppy and Solateria console packages can be purchased through online channels such as the Shinsegae I&C Naver Smart Store, Gamepia, and Yepannet.
With this console package launch, Shinsegae I&C plans to expand the user response confirmed in the digital versions into demand for physical packages and broaden the distribution channels for its publishing game IP. In particular, through special components that reflect each title's universe and character appeal, the company expects to strengthen its touchpoints with the fandom.
Jung Sang-ho, head of Platform Business at Shinsegae I&C, said, "We focused on expanding outstanding game IP into physical packages and planning package components and distribution strategies that reflect each work's universe and fandom characteristics," adding, "We will continue to discover competitive IP that reflects the segmented demands of the game market—such as genre, fandom, and platform characteristics—and expand our publishing portfolio through optimized package planning."
