OpenAI said on the 22nd that it will supply ChatGPT Enterprise and the AI-based work automation platform "Codex" for domestic employees of Samsung Electronics and for employees worldwide in the device experience (DX) institutional sector.
This adoption is considered one of the largest cases among OpenAI's global ChatGPT Enterprise contracts. Samsung Electronics plans to apply Generative AI across its operations—including research and development (R&D), manufacturing, marketing, and management support—to boost productivity and problem-solving capabilities.
ChatGPT Enterprise is a corporate AI service that supports knowledge-based tasks such as information search and analysis, document writing, data interpretation, and idea generation. It offers data protection, access rights management, and security controls so it can be used in line with internal corporate security policies and governance frameworks.
Codex not only supports development work such as code writing, reviews, and debugging, but also helps non-developer roles directly build work automation tools, in-house software, and websites.
According to OpenAI, more than 5 million people worldwide use Codex each week, and in Korea, weekly active Codex users have increased by about 800% since on Feb.
OpenAI Korea head Kim Kyung-hun said, "It is significant that Samsung Electronics is using AI not as a tool confined to specific organizations or tasks, but as a core platform for work innovation for employees worldwide," and added, "We will actively support employees so they can quickly execute ideas and solve complex problems using AI."
