GS Neotek said on the 17th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Tencent Cloud, the cloud business institutional sector of China's Tencent, to cooperate on CDN (content delivery network) and global cloud services.
Under the agreement, the two companies will jointly provide CDN and edge-based infrastructure solutions for Korean corporations and support the advancement of overseas services for domestic game, content, and media corporations.
With the agreement, Tencent Cloud plans to begin in earnest to expand its influence in the CDN business within Korea's enterprise market. The company said it will leverage its global network infrastructure and cloud service operations capabilities to actively supply to the Korean market solutions that address challenges in overseas service operations such as responding to traffic surges, ensuring stable global delivery quality, and improving expense efficiency, thereby solidifying its position in the global CDN market.
GS Neotek plans to use the agreement to organically link its IT business portfolio—AI transformation (AX), digital transformation (DX), security, CDN, and contact centers—with Tencent Cloud's global CDN infrastructure to provide domestic customers with a stronger global service operations environment.
Lee Sang-o, GS Neotek chief technology officer (CTO), said, "As global traffic demand is rapidly increasing in the game and content industries, we expect the cooperation between the two companies to make a tangible contribution to domestic customers' overseas expansion and improved service quality."
