LG Uplus is unveiling new mid-speed internet plans aimed at households and small-business stores.
LG Uplus said on the 15th it will launch five "200M internet plans." Existing high-speed internet offerings have centered on 100M, 500M, and 1G tiers, and the core of the update is adding a 200M tier to widen customer choice.
The new plans target customers who need faster speeds than 100M but find 500M or higher too much. By adding 3,300 won per month (including value-added taxes) to the existing 100M rate, customers can use 200M internet.
The lineup includes five plans: "Wi-Fi Basic Safe 200M," "Premium Safe 200M," "Premium Safe Compensation 200M," and, for small-business owners, "Payment Safe 200M" and "Safe Compensation 200M."
Recently, households have seen more concurrent connections for online video services (OTT), video conferencing, and online learning. Small-business stores are also increasingly using internet-based services such as payment terminals, reservation management, and closed-circuit (CC) TV. LG Uplus expects demand to grow for mid-speed plans between 100M and 500M in response to these changing usage patterns.
