Just three days after LG Uplus unveiled its participation-based campaign "Simple Voicemail," built on a telephone ARS (automatic response system), more than 1,000 voice messages have been received, drawing market attention.
"Simple Voicemail" is a service that lets users, regardless of carrier, call the LG Uplus main number to record their own support messages or listen to other users' messages. Operated anonymously, it was designed to lower the barrier to entry and, beyond simple consolidation, to keep emotional communication between people going.
Participation is simple. After calling the main number, choose one of the following: leave a support message, listen to support messages, or leave a support message for firefighters (limited time). Messages are recorded for about one minute and delivered to other users.
The collected voice data are converted to text with AI and, after context analysis, automatically categorized into 12 types, including "career and employment," "workplace and duties," "human relationships," and "burnout and lethargy." It features a personalized experience that automatically matches messages to the user's situation, and inappropriate expressions are managed with separate filtering.
A social contribution element was also added. When leaving a support message or participating in support for firefighters, 1,000 won per entry is accrued and donated to "Hope Sharing for Firefighting Families."
LG Uplus said it plans to use this campaign to pursue both an enhanced user experience powered by AI technology and the value of social solidarity.
