Sam Altman, chief executive officer (CEO) of OpenAI, has postponed his trip to Korea.
According to OpenAI on the 12th, Altman postponed his planned visits to Asia, including Korea, which had been set for the 14th-15th, due to personal reasons.
OpenAI said, "Altman was looking forward to this trip to Korea as well, so we very much regret that he is unable to keep to the schedule."
During this visit to Korea, Altman was scheduled to meet in succession with the management of domestic major corporations, including Samsung Electronics, Naver, and Kakao, to discuss cooperation plans.
OpenAI said, "Korea is a very important country and a strategic partner for OpenAI, and the cooperation under way with domestic partners will continue as planned." It added, "We hope Altman can return to Korea in the near future to greet people in person."
However, the specific reason for the postponement of Altman's trip to Korea and his future schedule were not disclosed.
