3D semiconductor inspection equipment corporations Koh Young Technology has officially entered SpaceX's supply chain. Koh Young plans to pioneer the global market not only by supplying advanced semiconductor inspection equipment but also with "autonomous manufacturing technology" that optimizes production conditions on its own based on process data.
According to the industry on the 12th, Koh Young's closed-loop (Closed Loop) technology and 3D inspection equipment are being applied to SpaceX's satellite manufacturing processes. SpaceX is a top-tier global demand destination that is reshaping the private space industry, including building the Starlink satellite constellation. This entry into the supply chain suggests that Koh Young's technology has passed global-level quality requirements.
Aerospace components require a level of reliability far beyond that of ordinary electronic products. Because they must withstand extreme vibrations and temperature changes during launch and orbit operations, even micrometer-level process deviations can lead to fatal defects. A single defective part can cause a satellite's entire mission to fail.
Koh Young's closed-loop technology feeds 3D inspection data back into production processes in real time to automatically optimize conditions. Simply put, it reflects inspection results back into the process to fix itself. In this structure, where "inspection → analysis → process improvement" forms a virtuous cycle, it can detect slight deviations early and maintain optimal production conditions without human intervention, showing particular strength in manufacturing high-density, high-reliability components. Koh Young has independently developed this technology for more than 10 years.
The industry views Koh Young's entry into SpaceX's supply chain as laying the groundwork for the company to cement a strong position in the advanced semiconductor sector. Analysts say it could serve as leverage to expand its customer base in Europe and North America's space industries.
As demand grows for AI servers and optical module inspection and the potential for an expanded manufacturing market rises with the growth of humanoids, analysts say Koh Young has secured scalability into other advanced industrial sectors based on its technology.
A Koh Young official said, "Koh Young is evolving into autonomous manufacturing solution corporations that analyze and optimize manufacturing processes based on 3D measurement data and closed-loop technology," and added, "We expect to see more opportunities to apply our technology in future industries that require high-reliability manufacturing, such as AI servers, aerospace, and humanoids." The official continued, "In the first quarter of this year, revenue in industrial sectors including aerospace hit a record high on a quarterly basis, and we will continue our growth trajectory alongside rising manufacturing demand driven by the growth of the semiconductor and AI industries."
