Pearl Abyss said on the 11th that global cumulative sales of the new title "Crimson Desert" have surpassed 6 million copies.
The milestone was achieved 83 days after launch, the fastest pace in the history of Korean console games. "Crimson Desert" sold 2 million copies on the first day alone, then 3 million in 4 days, 4 million in 12 days, 5 million in 26 days, and 6 million in 83 days, joining the ranks of the most successful Korean-made PC and console games ever.
Pearl Abyss noted that "the cumulative 6 million copies carry great significance as they were achieved with a new intellectual property (IP) in a global console market dominated by established franchises." According to the "2026 U.S. video game sales rankings" that U.S. market research firm Circana released last month, "Crimson Desert" ranked No. 2 in annual cumulative sales.
Crimson Desert announced the milestone of surpassing 6 million in global sales through its official social media (SNS), saying, "We sincerely thank all Graymanes who came to Fyewell and experienced the world in their own ways."
"Crimson Desert" is an open-world adventure game that Pearl Abyss released on Mar. 20. Using its proprietary Blackspace Engine, it renders a vast open world seamlessly. Pearl Abyss recently previewed a third-quarter update for "Crimson Desert" and released plans to produce DLC (downloadable content).
Heo Jin-young, CEO of Pearl Abyss, said, "Even though Crimson Desert is a new IP, we are truly grateful to users around the world for helping us achieve meaningful results in the global market," adding, "To deliver more enjoyable and better experiences, Pearl Abyss will continue moving forward toward new challenges."
