SK Telecom will extend point benefits for its SIM-only service app "air" to members who have not subscribed to a plan.
SK Telecom said on the 11th that it revamped the service so that app members who have not subscribed to an air plan can also earn and use points. Previously, users could complete missions in the air app to collect points, but only air plan subscribers were allowed to use the points.
With this revamp, members without a plan can use points earned through ad-based missions such as "scratch lottery," "prediction hit points," and "point mission" in the Point Shop. The Point Shop offers more than 1,000 items, including Naver Pay points, convenience store, department store, and Olive Young gift certificates, and food and beverage products.
Benefits for air plan subscribers were also strengthened. Points earned from three new ad-based missions can be additionally used to pay bills beyond the existing monthly limit of 5,000 points for air subscribers only. SK Telecom also improved the user interface so that available points can be checked immediately on the app's home screen.
A promotion to mark the service revamp will run through the 30th. Members without a plan who collect 100 points through missions can take part once a week in the "100-won deal" event, which allows them to purchase popular Point Shop items for 100 points. New air plan subscribers can receive 10 times the points earned when completing the three new missions.
