Digital Twin·industrial synthetic data corporations SKAI worldwide Intelligence said on the 11th that it secured Series A funding from DS Investment Partners, an affiliate of DS Financial Group.
SKAI worldwide Intelligence is a corporations that generates synthetic data for training robot artificial intelligence (AI) based on Digital Twin technology that recreates industrial sites such as real factories and logistics centers in virtual space.
For industrial robots to perceive and judge their surroundings like people, they need large volumes of high-quality training data, but collecting and processing this directly in the field takes a lot of expense and time. The company aims to provide data that can be applied to manufacturing, logistics, and automation by repeatedly generating various situations in a virtual environment.
This investment reflects the view that the importance of data and simulation infrastructure is growing as the physical AI market expands. DS Investment Partners, a technology business finance company of DS Financial Group led by Chair Jang Deok-su, has invested in unicorn corporations such as Market Kurly and ZIGBANG CO.. SKAI worldwide Intelligence plans to use the funds to advance its industrial synthetic data platform and expand its entry into the global manufacturing and Robotics markets.
The industry expects that competitiveness in physical AI will depend not only on robot hardware but also on how precisely real environments are replicated and how training data is secured. Gartner projected that by 2029, data generated by AI agents in physical environments will be 10 times greater than that of all digital AI applications. Nvidia is also presenting robot simulation and synthetic data generation as core pillars of physical AI development.
Lee Jae-cheol, CEO of SKAI worldwide Intelligence, said, "This funding is a meaningful milestone that shows the market recognizes the company's technological capabilities and business vision," and added, "We will advance industrial synthetic data technology and grow into a core infrastructure corporations in the global physical AI ecosystem."
