OpenAI said on the 9th that it improved the user experience of ChatGPT, including its memory feature, file management, and data visualization.
The memory feature was improved to automatically keep users' preferences, work styles, and ongoing projects up to date without repeated input. Users can receive more contextual answers without having to explain frequently used writing styles or fields of work each time. It is first available to U.S. Plus and Pro plan users and will expand to the Free and Go plans and additional countries within a few weeks.
File management was also strengthened. Through the newly improved file library, users can find in one place and reuse files they uploaded to ChatGPT or that artificial intelligence (AI) generated. Users can save drafts or documents in progress and continue working later, and messages sent with attached files can now be edited after the fact.
Features for handling long documents or code were also added. ChatGPT supports "writing blocks" and "code blocks," which display long text and code as separate blocks. It is now easier to compare drafts and revisions or reuse only specific parts, and writing blocks offer a full-screen edit feature.
Data analysis features were diversified. When users input tables and numerical data, they can generate various types of charts, including bar charts, line charts, pie charts, and scatter plots. A key feature is the ability to visualize data and analyze trends within the chat window without using separate programs.
The model selection process was streamlined. Users can select or switch to the desired model directly from the message input field. Some models offer options to adjust response speed and reasoning level, allowing use tailored to the task purpose.
