Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang on the 8th officially announced an expansion of strategic cooperation with SK Group at a press briefing held at the SK Seorin Building in Jongno-gu, Seoul. He said, "Building AI infrastructure is only just beginning," adding, "Together with SK hynix and SK Telecom, we will build AI infrastructure in Korea and global markets."
On this day, CEO Jensen Huang described the collaboration between Nvidia and SK Group as a "multiyear, multiplatform, multitechnology partnership." He said, "Nvidia already purchases memory worth several billion dollars annually from SK hynix," adding, "This scale will grow significantly going forward."
In particular, he again stressed SK hynix's high-bandwidth memory (HBM) as a key component of next-generation AI infrastructure. CEO Jensen Huang said, "SK hynix has long been Nvidia's largest memory partner," evaluating that "the two companies have developed technology together, expanded markets, and grown." He added, "This collaboration will extend beyond AI factories to Robotics and next-generation computing."
He also expressed strong confidence in the growth of the AI industry. CEO Jensen Huang said, "AI has now become a truly useful technology, and all countries and corporations will use AI," adding, "Demand for AI infrastructure is surging worldwide." He predicted, "We are only at the beginning stage of building global AI infrastructure, and the expansion phase will continue for more than 10 years."
Through this collaboration, Nvidia and SK Group will pursue building AI data centers and AI factories, jointly researching next-generation AI server architecture, and developing advanced memory and semiconductor technologies. CEO Jensen Huang said, "AI infrastructure will become the core foundational facility for national competitiveness, like the internet and electricity in the past," adding, "Korea has the world's top-tier capabilities in semiconductors, manufacturing, and AI, and therefore has the optimal environment to lead the AI era."
He also emphasized, "We are building AI factories in Korea with SK Telecom, which will become the foundation for universities, startups, and the broader industry to use AI," adding, "In the future, Korea will also become a nation powered by AI."
Attending the briefing were SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, SK hynix CEO and President Kwak Noh-jung, and SK Telecom CEO Jung Jai-hun, who announced plans to expand cooperation with Nvidia. At the end of the event, CEO Jensen Huang said, "I came to Korea today to celebrate a major partnership with SK," adding, "We will continue to grow together and build the future together."
