Neowiz said on the 8th that it appointed Park Seong-jun, head of the new game development group, as the new CEO.
CEO-designate Park will lead Neowiz's management together with CEO Bae Tae-geun in a co-CEO system. He is set to take office officially after approval at the regular board meeting in Aug. With this appointment, Neowiz established, for the first time since its founding, a CEO system led by a former developer.
A Neowiz official said, "To prioritize expertise and execution at the development site as the new-title pipeline enters full swing, we appointed a CEO from a developer background," adding, "With this personnel move, we will concentrate the company's capabilities on developing new titles and achieving global results."
Park, the CEO-designate, is regarded as a key figure who led the global success of Neowiz's flagship title "Lies of P." He started in 2013 as development director at Neowiz CRS, then served as head of console development at Neowiz Bless Studio, and since 2019 has been head of Round8 Studio. Since 2023, he has concurrently served as head of the new game development group, overseeing Neowiz's next-generation development lineup overall.
Park said, "With multiple projects now on a development track, starting in 2027 Neowiz will be able to fully showcase the new-title pipeline it has prepared," adding, "We will put the fun gamers want as the top value and, based on the experience and know-how accumulated on the development floor, focus our capabilities on delivering new titles that can resonate in the global market."
He plans to continue concurrently as head of the new game development group even after becoming CEO, linking the development direction of major projects with management strategy.
Meanwhile, CEO Kim Seung-cheol will continue to serve as a member of the board by retaining his inside director post after resigning as CEO.
