Jun Young-hyun, vice chairman of Samsung Electronics, said, "In the short term, we discussed cooperation on HBM and foundry with Nvidia," adding, "In the mid to long term, we also talked about cooperating and jointly developing together."
Vice Chairman Jun met with reporters after meeting Nvidia Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jensen Huang at the Yeongbingwan at the Shilla Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, on the 8th, and said, "I had many good conversations with CEO Jensen Huang," adding, "We have worked together for a long time, but today seems to be the best conversation we have had."
Vice Chairman Jun was cautious about the progress of cooperation with Nvidia following the sample shipment of the next-generation product HBM4E. He said, "Starting this year, we must adequately supply HBM4 and SOCAMM," adding, "From next year, we will also have many discussions on long-term cooperation such as HBM4E, foundry, and HBM5."
Regarding foundry cooperation, he said, "We are working together on the Autonomous Driving chip needed by Nvidia and accelerator chips such as Groq-3," adding, "We are also discussing cooperation for the next generation."
However, when asked whether there were any newly discussed items in the Autonomous Driving field, he answered, "No."
On the competitive landscape with SK hynix, he said, "We will work hard on our work," adding, "We will show you the results later." He continued, "We will do our best so that Nvidia can succeed as the best partner."
