On the 5th, Jensen Huang, the Nvidia CEO (CEO), who met Chey Tae-won, SK Group chairman, Koo Kwang-mo, LG Group chairman, and Lee Hae-jin, Naver board chairman, at a samgyeopsal restaurant near Hongdae in Seoul, met Chairman Chey again two days later. This time, the venue was a chicken restaurant in Gangnam, Seoul.
On the afternoon of the 7th, after throwing the ceremonial first pitch at the Doosan Bears–Kiwoom Heroes game at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul, Huang visited the Kkanbu Chicken Samsung branch in Gangnam District and had dinner with Chairman Chey. It was the same venue as last year's so-called "Kkanbu meeting" with Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong and Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun.
That day, Huang arrived at the store with his wife, Lori Huang, at about 6:45 p.m., roughly 15 minutes earlier than the appointed time. He showed his trademark affability by taking photos and signing autographs for citizens gathered in front of the restaurant. Chairman Chey appeared at about 6:56 p.m.
What drew attention was the attire. Because Huang had just finished the first pitch at Jamsil Baseball Stadium, he appeared wearing the Doosan Bears uniform. Lori Huang was also dressed in a Doosan uniform. It was reported that only after entering the store did they change into everyday clothes.
When Huang appeared in a Doosan uniform, some on site speculated that Doosan Group Chairman Park Jeong-won might also attend the meeting. However, only SK Group executives joined the gathering that day.
Attendees were said to include Kwak Noh-jung, SK hynix president and CEO, Kim Ju-seon, SK hynix president in charge of AI infrastructure, Jung Jai-hun, SK Telecom president and CEO, and Jung Seok-geun, head of SK Telecom's AI CIC and chief technology officer (CTO).
The front of the restaurant was crowded with reporters and citizens even before the meeting began. Perhaps because more people than expected gathered last year, Nvidia began managing the scene from the afternoon by setting up crowd-control lines and restricting some movement paths.
Quite a few fans waited for Huang holding Nvidia-related books and pamphlets. A minor argument also broke out among citizens trying to secure good spots.
Before the meeting, Huang took the mound for the ceremonial first pitch at Jamsil Stadium. He wore a No. 93 jersey, representing Nvidia's founding year of 1993, while Chairman Park Jeong-won wore a No. 96 jersey symbolizing Doosan's founding year of 1896 and handled the ceremonial first swing.
But the ball Huang threw veered far toward the batter's box instead of the catcher's mitt. The ball headed over Chairman Park's head, and catcher Yang Eui-ji had to rise to catch it.
Huang later reportedly explained the situation in person when meeting with Chairman Park and others, saying, "If you throw the ball while looking at a person, it tends to go to that person. I should have looked at the catcher, but I kept throwing while looking at Chairman Park Jeong-won, and that's what happened."
He then lightly patted Chairman Park on the shoulder and said, "I shouldn't look at the chairman; I should have looked straight at the catcher," adding, "After I threw the ball, I thought, 'Oh my goodness,'" reportedly drawing laughter from those around.
