Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is expected to meet Krafton during his visit to Korea to discuss cooperation in physical artificial intelligence (AI) and AI PC.
According to the IT industry on the 4th, Huang will meet this week in Seoul with Krafton Chair Jang Byung-gyu, Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO) Lee Kang-wook, and Jang Tae-seok, who oversees the "Battlegrounds" intellectual property (IP) franchise. The specific schedule and location have not been disclosed, but the meeting is said to be held one-on-one.
Industry watchers say the meeting will focus on cooperation in physical AI, including Humanoid Robot, and game technology collaboration using Nvidia's AI PC platform. In Apr. last year, Krafton's top management visited Nvidia's headquarters in California to discuss next-generation technology cooperation, including in robotics.
Interest is particularly growing in the potential for collaboration after Krafton established the physical AI-focused subsidiary "Ludo Robotics" early this year. At Ludo Robotics, Krafton CEO Kim Chang-han serves as CEO of the U.S. headquarters, while CAIO Lee Kang-wook heads the Korea entity, and the company is pursuing AI development for Humanoid Robot.
Also drawing attention is the AI PC brand "RTX Spark," unveiled recently at GTC Taipei by Nvidia. RTX Spark is equipped with the "N1 X," a central processing unit (CPU) and graphics processing unit (GPU) integrated chipset developed in collaboration with MediaTek. With 128GB of high-capacity unified memory and AI computing performance reaching 1 petaflops, it can run AI agents without an internet connection.
Krafton has long worked with Nvidia to develop and integrate in-game AI features. In its flagship title Battlegrounds, it introduced "PUBG Ally," which lets users enjoy the game with AI, and in the life simulation game "inZOI," it applied the "Smart Zoi" feature that allows game characters to think and act like real people.
Both features adopt an On-device AI approach that computes on the device without going through the cloud, and the industry expects the local AI computing performance of Nvidia's N1 X to help popularize in-game AI features in titles such as PUBG and inZOI.
Meanwhile, Huang is expected to arrive in Korea as early as this evening and meet over four days with heads of major domestic corporations, the game industry, and officials from robotics and AI startups. He plans to meet with SK Group Chair Chey Tae-won, LG Group Chair Koo Kwang-mo, and Naver Chair Lee Hae-jin, and is also said to be meeting NC CEO Kim Taek-jin to discuss cooperation in physical AI.
