Samsung Display said on the 1st that it will take part in Computex 2026, held in Taipei, Taiwan, from the 2nd to the 5th, and unveil 16 gaming-focused OLED and QD-OLED products ranging from 8.8 inches to 49 inches. With a lineup spanning every category from portable gaming PCs to large monitors, the company aims to secure leadership in the high-end gaming display market.
In the notebook category, an "ultra-slim" panel making its debut at this event is drawing attention. The key is cutting the module thickness by more than 20% compared with existing mass-produced products, achieved through a proprietary process that etches the TFT substrate glass and encapsulation glass to make them more than 30% thinner. Despite the slimmer form, it maintains core performance including VESA True Black 1000, a maximum 240Hz refresh rate, and ClearMR 11000.
In the monitor category, it will showcase a QD-OLED new model that for the first time in the world delivers both 4K resolution and a 360Hz high refresh rate. When implementing both specifications together, the volume of pixel data soars, but the company overcame this technical challenge by optimizing the circuitry and driving system. It will also present its "Penta Tandem" technology—an all-blue OLED five-stack structure unveiled early this year—in a dedicated space.
The hands-on area has also been greatly enhanced. Working with global game companies including Krafton, Pearl Abyss, EA, and Neowiz, the company built a realistic gaming environment so visitors can directly experience the technical edge of its products, such as playing Battlegrounds on a 500Hz QD-OLED and comparing play of F1 25 on a 49-inch QD-OLED. A mini game developed in-house using AI by Samsung Display will also be available.
Son Dong-il, head of the Large Display Business Division, said, "The technological paradigm of the high-end gaming display market has already shifted completely from LCD to self-emissive displays," expressing a commitment to continue leading innovations that boost gamer immersion.
