Samsung SDS said on the 28th that it held the "Samsung SDS Industry Day" at Lotte City Hotel Daejeon for manufacturing companies in the Chungcheong and Jeolla regions.
Industry Day is an event for customers in industries such as public sector, finance, manufacturing, distribution, and defense to introduce Samsung SDS's key solutions, service direction, and real-world implementation cases. Starting with the public sector in March, the company has been holding seminars in April for the manufacturing, distribution, and service industries and for the finance industry.
This event was held under the theme "AX, accelerating the future of the manufacturing industry," and drew more than 100 IT officials from manufacturing companies in the Chungcheong and Jeolla regions. The seminar introduced manufacturing companies' AI transformation (AX) strategies, AI-based work innovation cases, and examples of actual business outcomes.
In its presentation, Samsung SDS shared a case of building an integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) system connecting 18 major affiliates of Harim Group. The company said it standardized ERP to fit Harim Group's business structure spanning from raw material procurement to distribution and improved operational efficiency.
In addition, various AX cases in the manufacturing industry were introduced, including: ▲ a data platform for manufacturing AX ▲ innovation strategies for product lifecycle management (PLM) using AI ▲ manufacturing operational technology (OT) security strategies to respond to ransomware ▲ a case of applying a 5G private network to implement physical AI ▲ ways to use the Generative AI-based collaboration solution Brity Works.
Lee Jeong-heon, head of strategy marketing at Samsung SDS (executive vice president), said, "This seminar is meaningful in that it shared AX directions and real innovation cases with manufacturing companies in the Chungcheong and Jeolla regions," and added, "Based on our AI full-stack capabilities and industry-specific know-how, we will continue to provide insights to customers across various industries."
