Naver filed a disclosure on the 19th saying it is reviewing various options to strengthen business competitiveness regarding a report that it formed a consortium with Uber to acquire Woowa Brothers, which operates Baemin, but nothing has been decided specifically at this time.
Some media outlets reported that day that Naver and Uber formed a consortium with an 8-to-2 split and took part in the preliminary bidding to acquire Baemin. Earlier, it was reported that Germany's Delivery Hero moved to sell Woowa Brothers and sent an investment memorandum to domestic and overseas corporations. Naver and Uber are said to have proposed an acquisition price of 8 trillion won in the bid, aiming to acquire 100% equity.
Naver said it will make a follow-up disclosure when specific details are finalized or within one month.
