Samsung Electronics' 2026 Bespoke AI Family Hub refrigerator with artificial intelligence (AI) features is earning praise in the United States and Europe.
On the 19th, according to Samsung Electronics, U.S. outlet Tom's Guide recently selected Samsung Electronics' Bespoke AI Family Hub in the smart home, appliances, and security category of the "AI Awards 2026," which recognizes representative AI products noted for practicality and completeness. The awards comprehensively evaluate and introduce a range of products, including PCs, mobile devices, wearables, and appliances.
Tom's Guide said, "Samsung Electronics' Bespoke AI Family Hub refrigerator combines Samsung's Vision AI technology with Google's Generative AI Gemini to recognize ingredients inside the refrigerator more precisely," adding, "It distinguishes avocados and zucchini as well as the difference between regular and diet cola, and suggests personalized meal plans and shopping lists based on stored ingredients." It continued, "It also helps reduce food waste by notifying users when ingredients are nearing their use-by dates," and said, "We're completely taken with Samsung Electronics' new AI refrigerator that can even check the weather and play music."
U.K. outlet T3 selected nine kitchen items that help reduce food waste, and Samsung Electronics' Bespoke AI Family Hub refrigerator was the only major appliance included. T3 said, "This year's Family Hub refrigerator has been upgraded to reduce food waste by using AI and camera technology," adding, "The internal camera recognizes ingredients going in and out of the fridge and even manages each item's use-by date to send alerts at the right time." It added, "It also recommends a variety of recipes that use stored ingredients to help use them more efficiently."
U.S. outlet Engadget said, "The Bespoke AI Family Hub's ingredient recognition range has expanded significantly from about 100 items to about 2,000," adding, "It has moved beyond simple AI functions toward a practical ingredient management solution that's useful in real kitchens."
U.S. business outlet Business Insider said, "Through 'AI Vision' technology, the refrigerator even serves as a 'personalized shopping assistant,'" adding, "It automatically manages ingredients and connects to purchasing missing items, delivering a smart kitchen experience in everyday life."
Since first unveiling the Family Hub refrigerator in 2016, Samsung Electronics has won a total of 10 Innovation Awards through this year at CES in the United States, the world's largest IT and home appliance exhibition. The Bespoke AI Family Hub refrigerator that Samsung Electronics launched in Korea in Mar. features upgraded AI Vision that can recognize a wide range of fresh and processed foods without limits on the number of food types. Based on this, it supports everything from ingredient management to personalized recipe recommendations.
