SK shieldus is joining hands with NHN Waplat to expand its digital care and everyday safety business.
SK shieldus said on the 18th that it will work with NHN Waplat to expand ADT Caps' AI-based care service and everyday safety business.
The first collaboration between the two companies is a pilot project in the smart home field under the Ministry of Health and Welfare's "AI Application Product Rapid Commercialization Support Project (AX Sprint)." The two companies will participate as an NHN consortium and, through 2027, will pilot an AI–Internet of Things (IoT)-based smart home care operating model for 400 households in Gyeonggi and South Jeolla provinces.
The project's core is to integrate AI and smart home technologies into the senior care ecosystem to provide integrated support for recipients' safety, health, and emotional care.
SK shieldus will support by operating a 24-hour monitoring center, providing coordinated emergency dispatch linked with 119, and running equipment using ADT Caps' AI closed-circuit (CC)TV, 24-hour security monitoring, and nationwide dispatch infrastructure. NHN Waplat will handle planning for the AI care platform, establishing the operating framework, and AI caregiver conversation services.
Going forward, the two companies plan to expand service models that can reduce care gaps for older adults by combining ADT Caps' physical security operating know-how with NHN Waplat's senior care services. SK shieldus also plans to add care functions to the home security brand "Caps Home" and expand it into a daily life–focused safety service.
An SK shieldus official said, "Digital care using AI and smart home technology will take root as a core service for responding to Korea's upcoming super-aged society," adding, "SK shieldus will build security and safety systems to prevent social isolation among various underserved groups, based on ADT Caps' physical security know-how and the general customer experience of Caps Home."
