Samsung Electronics said on the 17th that it held a running event linked with Samsung Health, "Galaxy Watch Run @Safari," at Everland.
Participants ran a 4.82 km course that included Lost Valley and Safari World, which previously could be viewed only by car.
Samsung Electronics combined Galaxy Watch and "Samsung Health" to deliver the message, "The start of running is Galaxy Watch, the completion of running is Samsung Health." The program was organized so participants could directly experience integrated health management functions, from pre-event missions to a same-day record verification event.
Before the event, participants managed their condition by experiencing features specialized for the Galaxy Watch8 series and Samsung Health. They checked sleep patterns with sleep coaching, verified practice running records, and measured antioxidant index.
On the day of the event, participants did a brief running workout with former national marathoner Coach Kwon Eun-ju, a Samsung Health ambassador, then set off wearing Galaxy Watches. Using Samsung Health, they checked heart rate and split times and adjusted their pace.
Samsung Electronics provided all finishers with a commemorative medal shaped like the Galaxy Watch8 and an Everland admission ticket. It also held events including a celebratory performance by singer Sean, a Samsung Health ambassador, a best-dressed award, and a lucky draw.
Park Jeong-mi, executive vice president heading Korea at Samsung Electronics, said, "We prepared this as an event where people can directly experience everyday health routines, from running to managing sleep condition," adding, "We will continue to expand a variety of programs so customers can easily and enjoyably experience watch-based healthcare features."
