Kakao said on the 15th that through a regular KakaoTalk update, it expanded reactions that let users leave hearts, likes, and more on chat bubbles from six to 114.
Users can also use their own mini emoticons as reactions. Mini emoticons they do not own can be used by tapping reactions registered by other users.
Kakao revamped the Emoticon Store. New and Popular tabs have been added to the Emoticon menu so users can explore a wider range of emoticons. Emoticon items they like can be saved with the "like" feature, and they can check emoticon rankings at a glance.
In addition, to make it easier to check "recent calls," a "calls" folder was newly created at the top of the Chats tab. In the "calls" folder, users can see past Voice Talk and Face Talk histories together.
The new features are available on KakaoTalk version v26.4.0 or later.
A Kakao official said, "We have improved various features so users can have a richer and more convenient communication experience within KakaoTalk," adding, "We will continue to advance the service by reflecting users' feedback going forward."
