Amazon was listed for the first time among Samsung Electronics' top five revenue sources.
According to the first-quarter report filed on the 15th by Samsung Electronics, Alphabet (Google's parent company), Amazon, Deutsche Telekom, Hong Kong Techtronic, and Verizon were the top five revenue sources. Compared with the annual business report for last year, Apple and Supreme Electronics dropped off, and Amazon and Verizon were added.
This is the first time Amazon has been included among Samsung Electronics' top five revenue sources. It is seen as a result of expanded semiconductor sales and rising prices. The share of sales from the top five revenue sources is about 23% of total revenue.
By region, net sales (first quarter, consolidation basis) were highest in the Americas at 59.7503 trillion won. China (28.1634 trillion won), Asia and Africa (16.7612 trillion won), and Europe (15.7138 trillion won) followed. In the Americas, net sales nearly doubled from the same period a year earlier (30.2195 trillion won). Over the same period, China more than tripled from 9.0099 trillion won. The trend is analyzed as being driven by higher semiconductor prices amid expanded investment by global big tech companies in building artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure.
