AI security and authentication platform Raonsecure said on the 14th that it recently completed the "Kukkiwon Digital ID" project to build Kukkiwon's taekwondo poom/dan certificates and licenses using digital identity verification.
The project applied Raonsecure's Blockchain-based integrated identity and credential authentication platform, "OmniOne Digital ID." The platform, which is also used in Korea's national mobile ID issuance system, supports the entire process of issuing, storing, and presenting digital IDs.
As a result, Kukkiwon has established an authentication infrastructure to operate various taekwondo-related certificates in digital form. In particular, a total of 27 credentials—including 13 types of poom/dan certificates that had been issued only as paper or plastic cards and 14 types of World Taekwondo Academy licenses—have been converted to mobile digital identity verification.
Conventional physical certificates were inconvenient to store and made it difficult to immediately verify tampering or forgery. However, with only the "Kukkiwon Digital ID" app on a smartphone, qualifications can be verified anywhere, and authentication is also possible online using a QR code.
The new system enhances trust through Blockchain-based anti-tampering technology and real-time validity checks, and personal information is protected through a "decentralized identity" method, improving the reliability and safety of credential verification.
Lee Jeong-a, CEO of Raonsecure, said, "This project expands the scope of application for digital authentication services on a Web3 foundation," adding, "We will continue to work with various institutions and corporations so that digital authentication can lead to everyday convenience and service innovation."
