Kakao Entertainment will recruit drama-genre webtoons for 15 days starting on the 27th.
Kakao Entertainment said on the 13th it will run "Show us your drama!" to recruit Kakao Webtoon drama-genre webtoons from May 27 to June 10.
This contest does not limit the drama genre to a single format, and will accept entries in three categories: ◇ cheerful ◇ dopamine ◇ romance.
In the cheerful mood, creators can submit black comedies that twist reality; in the dopamine mood, romance thrillers or social psychological battles; and in the romance mood, healing works that soothe a tired heart.
The recruitment categories are divided into work submissions and story submissions, and duplicate applications are allowed. For work submissions, entrants must submit a full synopsis, a completed Episode 1 manuscript, and storyboard thumbnails for Episodes 2–3; for story submissions, they must submit a project plan and synopsis, plus storyboard thumbnails for Episodes 1–3.
Entries can be submitted to the official Kakao Webtoon Studio submission email during the recruitment period. Submissions will proceed to individual contact to discuss producing and serialization. Creators whose works are finally confirmed for serialization will be given the opportunity to publish simultaneously on Kakao Webtoon and Kakao Page.
A Kakao Entertainment official said, "This recruitment is an attempt to discover new works that center on creators' unique individuality within the drama genre," adding, "We will continue recruiting across various genres within the year."
