Nexon said Nexon Museum reopened on the 12th after about four months of renovations. Launched as Asia's first computer museum, Nexon Museum aims through this makeover to become Korea's only game brand hub.
At Nexon Museum, visitors can find in one place a wide range of popular intellectual properties (IP) spanning all generations, from "The Kingdom of the Winds," which marks its 30th year of service this year, to "KartRider," "MapleStory," "Mabinogi," and DUNGEON & FIGHTER. It is the only such space in Korea.
Nexon said, "The key to this renewal is defining the 'player' as the main agent creating the fun of games, moving away from the previous technology-history-centered exhibition method," adding, "It covers the story of online games led by Korea and Nexon, and introduces a space where users can transfer their play records offline to directly experience the virtual world."
When visitors log in with their Nexon account, play records scattered across multiple games gather in one place and a "personalized viewing" journey begins. For visitors without a Nexon account or who do not link one, an IP is assigned at random to offer a new opportunity to encounter Nexon's diverse games.
To mark the reopening, Nexon Museum is unveiling two new permanent exhibitions across all floors from the 1st to the 3rd. On the 1st and 2nd floors is "Players: Don't die! Keep going!," and on the 3rd floor is "Hello, my OOO!" A special exhibition, "The Kingdom of the Winds: Continuing Wind," is separately prepared on the 2nd floor.
In the goods zone on the 3rd floor, capsules containing merchandise of Nexon's major IP, including DUNGEON & FIGHTER, Mabinogi Mobile, Blue Archive, The Kingdom of the Winds, Dave the Diver, and Crazy Arcade, are on display.
Park Doo-san, director of Nexon Museum, said, "Nexon Museum aims to establish itself as a new hub of game culture that players can cherish," adding, "We will continue to present diverse content where players can encounter their experiences and memories in the real world."
