Artificial intelligence (AI) audio corporations ElevenLabs said on the 6th that it successfully launched a new audio novel service, "PodNovel," in partnership with Spoonlabs.
Spoonlabs adopted ElevenLabs' advanced AI voice technology to mass-produce AI-based, high-quality audio content. The conventional voice-actor recording method took 4–7 months to produce a single piece of content, but after switching to ElevenLabs' AI-based production method, that time was slashed to within a few hours, and it also became possible to create multilingual content targeting the Korea, Japan, and Taiwan markets simultaneously, the company said.
The collaboration came as Spoonlabs expanded from its existing live audio–centered business into story-based audio content and completely redesigned its production process. Based on ElevenLabs' technology, Spoonlabs plans to release at least three new PodNovel titles per week in each country starting this month, with a short-term goal of securing more than 100 titles.
ElevenLabs has natural text-to-speech (TTS) technology that reproduces even human breathing, real-time voice cloning that is precisely rendered from just a few seconds of samples, and enterprise-grade voice agent technology that flawlessly conducts complex multi-turn conversations.
Kim Hyeon, Head of Team of Spoonlabs' PodNovel content team, said, "ElevenLabs goes beyond simple TTS to deliver performance-level technology that understands context and emotion."
Hong Sang-won, head of ElevenLabs Korea, said, "We are pleased that collaboration with Spoonlabs, which leads the global audio platform market, allows us to fundamentally improve how audio content is produced based on ElevenLabs' voice AI," adding, "We will contribute to innovating workflows and further setting new production standards through collaboration with various media companies going forward."
