SOOP said on May 4 that it will run the "Esports World Cup (EWC) LCK qualifier" and broadcast every match live.
The EWC is a club-based esports tournament held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Gen.G Esports was invited as the defending champion and advances directly to the main event, and two additional teams are expected to join through this qualifier.
The qualifier runs from May 4 to 26. Matches on the 4th, 5th, 12th, 18th, and 19th will be held online, and the finals on the 25th and 26th will take place offline at the SOOP Colosseum in Sangam, Seoul. The ticket sales schedule will be announced later.
Casters Chae Min-jun and Kim Kyu-hwan, and analysts Kim Dong-jun and "Prince" Lee Chae-hwan will join the broadcast. For the English broadcast, casters Valdes, Atlus, and Dgon and analysts Wolf and Aux will provide the live coverage.
SOOP will handle all production, operations, and transmission for the tournament. The Korean-language broadcast will be provided as an exclusive live stream, and English, traditional Chinese, and Vietnamese broadcasts will also be run for global fans. In Vietnam, the broadcast will be transmitted through the local partner platform "On Live."
