Samsung Electronics said at its first-quarter 2026 earnings conference call on the 30th that, regarding long-term supply agreements (LTA) for memory, "it is difficult to mention specific contract details under non-disclosure agreements (NDA) with customers."
It added, "Major customers, based on confidence in future demand related to AI, are requesting mid- to long-term volume commitments," and "accordingly, we are pursuing multi-year supply contracts within the range we can supply, and we have already signed contracts with some customers."
It also explained, "Unlike existing short-term supply contracts, multi-year supply agreements carry significant binding force and, in a situation where investment scale, technological complexity, and capacity operation risks have increased greatly compared with the past, they are a means to enhance business stability and visibility."
It further said, "Based on customers' mid- to long-term demand, we will flexibly manage the scale of investment and respond proactively to market changes."
