Samsung Electronics said at its first-quarter 2026 earnings conference call on the 30th that it has "secured a foothold for entering the data center cooling market by acquiring Flakt, a corporations specializing in air-handling equipment."
It added, "We plan to expand the business from Europe to North America with Flakt at the center and establish a production subsidiary in Korea to kick off full-fledged global expansion."
It also said, "As demand for Generative AI and high-performance computing (HPC) surges, global data centers are expected to see continued capacity additions through 2030," adding, "The data center cooling market is projected to grow from about $4.7 billion to $16.6 billion by 2030, implying a high compound annual growth rate of about 24%."
It added, "To secure leadership in the data center market, we will continue to pursue product portfolio expansion and regional diversification."
