LG Display said on the 29th that its gaming organic light-emitting diode (OLED) panel won the top honor, "Display of the Year," from the Society for Information Display (SID).
Display of the Year is the most prestigious award selected by SID.
The OLED gaming monitor features LG Display's proprietary technology "DFR (Dynamic Frequency & Resolution)," which lets users freely choose the mode they want.
LG Display Chief Technology Officer Choi Young-seok said, "As a technology-focused company, we will continue to research and develop innovative OLED technology in the gaming display market based on our differentiated technological prowess, and lead the market."
LG Display expects OLED adoption to spread rapidly in the gaming monitor market.
At its first-quarter 2026 earnings conference call on the 23rd, LG Display said, "The shift in the high-end gaming monitor market from liquid crystal display (LCD) to OLED is appearing very quickly," adding, "We will raise the share of OLED monitor shipments from the low-10% range last year to around 20% this year."
