Kakao said on the 29th that it introduced a "co-using" feature to KakaoTalk Gift, allowing families and acquaintances to manage mobile vouchers together. The core is that vouchers stored in the gift box can be shared with Family Account members so multiple people can check expiration dates and usage status in one place.
Until now, to use a voucher with someone else, you had to capture the barcode image or send it via message. In this process, people sometimes missed the expiration date or had the inconvenience of rechecking a voucher that had already been used. The new feature moves these steps into the gift box to improve ease of use.
Users can create a Family Account or accept an invitation to join an existing account from the new "co-using" tab in the KakaoTalk gift box. Members linked to the account can check and use vouchers without sending images separately. Usage status is reflected in real time, and when a voucher is used, a notification is sent to reduce duplicate use.
KakaoTalk Gift is a service that offers not only mobile vouchers but also delivery-type gifts, where the recipient enters a shipping address to receive the product. Kakao plans to use this feature as a starting point to expand Gift from a personal storage box to a sharing service among family and acquaintances, while continuing to improve the user experience.
