Neowiz said on the 29th that it has officially launched the casual merge game "Cats & Soup: Magic Recipe" in the global market.
Cats & Soup: Magic Recipe is a follow-up that uses the intellectual property (IP) of "Cats & Soup," which has surpassed 80 million cumulative downloads worldwide. It carries forward the original's art style while adding new cats and stories.
The game's core content is "merge play," which highlights the original cats' cute looks and natural interactions, and building a "share house." Players can earn "wish stars" through merge play and use them to decorate their own share house for the cats. Inside the completed share house, they can enjoy the cats' cheerful and adorable daily lives in various ways.
The global launch took place simultaneously across the world, first revealed in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Indonesia, excluding China, Vietnam and Russia. The service supports six languages in total: Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese (simplified, traditional) and Spanish (Latin America).
There are benefits to mark the official launch. As a pre-registration reward, the "Cherry Blossom Shorthair" cat—one of the most beloved in the original—and an exclusive outfit that matches the cat are provided. Players can also receive items that help early gameplay, such as the paid currencies "gems" and "energy."
A Neowiz official said, "We are pleased to present an official sequel that reimagines the appeal of the Cats & Soup IP, which has steadily been loved by global players, in a new way," adding, "Through merge play and share house content, we expect to offer a distinctive healing experience with the cats."
