Lotte Innovate said on the 29th that it has won a series of mobility contracts in Busan and South Gyeongsang.
Lotte Innovate carried out a 30 billion won project to improve and build the Busan Metro automated fare collection facilities system and a 10 billion won project to purchase and install automated fare collection facilities for the Yangsan Line (Nopo–Bukjeong).
In addition, over the past 30-plus years it built automated fare collection (AFC) across all Busan Metro lines and, for the first time in Korea, applied QR technology to a metro system. It completed numerous core projects spanning the region's mobility ecosystem, including development of the Busan Metropolitan City transit card management system, the Busan Subway Line 2 automated fare collection project, a smart tolling system, and an improvement project for the Busan new transit card.
Lotte Innovate plans to keep expanding its mobility business in Busan and South Gyeongsang by strengthening related solutions and building out and scaling the application of an open-loop payment system. In step with Busan Metropolitan City's push to make urban functions more efficient, it also plans to promote specialized projects such as Autonomous Driving services.
A Lotte Innovate official said, "With the establishment of the Busan branch, we will push to advance our existing solutions and diversify our mobility business based on AI and new technologies."
