LG Electronics said at its first-quarter 2026 earnings conference call on the 29th that it "will explain the progress of new growth engines, including home robots and robot parts, and AI data center cooling solutions," adding, "The ClOiD humanoid business is systematically conducting proof-of-concept (POC) demonstration work this year, and collaboration to develop a robot foundation model with global leading technology corporations, including Nvidia, is also gaining speed."
It added, "The demonstration work will begin in the first half and gradually expand into industrial and home domains, and we are exploring applicability based on years of accumulated industrial robot technology and process data," adding, "Leveraging our competitive edge in home understanding secured in the home appliance business, we will lay the groundwork to commercialize home robots in 2028."
It also said, "For actuators, a core robot component, we plan to begin mass-producing initial volumes in the first half, and development to internalize reducer technology is entering full swing through collaboration with major corporations and academia–industry research," adding, "Based on our world-class competitive edge in motor technology, we will push product development and establish production infrastructure, and quickly secure a robot arm-centered product lineup that can respond to diverse customer needs."
It went on, "We are seeing meaningful progress in the AI data center cooling solution field as well," adding, "Certification procedures for core products are proceeding smoothly with major customers, including global big tech, and we will be able to share visible results in the near future." It added, "We are rapidly pushing to secure next-generation cooling solution technologies and develop products, and we are also expanding cooperation to implement total solutions, including cooling software and power management systems."
