Industrial equipment corporations Siemens said on the 29th that it unveiled the factory autonomous execution artificial intelligence (AI) system Eigen Engineering Agent at the 2026 Hannover Messe in Germany.
According to the company, Eigen Engineering Agent is the first commercial engineering agent that goes beyond an assistive role to plan, execute, and verify tasks. The company said this enables production speeds two to five times faster than manual work, up to an 80% improvement in solution quality, and about a 50% boost in automation engineering efficiency.
Siemens added that it also built a fully AI-based adaptive manufacturing system in collaboration with NVIDIA and Robotics corporations Humanoid. The wheeled Humanoid Robot HMND 01, powered by NVIDIA's physical AI stack, independently decides and performs logistics tasks. To that end, Siemens used its open digital business platform Siemens Xcelerator.
Siemens also introduced Pop-up factory for companies such as PepsiCo and Pringles, as well as the world's first semiconductor-based protection and switching system. Pop-up factory is a modular mini plant in which processes are designed and coordinated in a Metaverse environment, and physical AI produces products on the actual production floor.
Roland Busch, chairman and CEO of Siemens Group, said, "Industrial AI will become a key factor that determines the leadership of future industries," adding, "Siemens is building an industrial AI operating framework that can be applied across the entire process from product design to engineering, production, and operations."
