Netmarble Cultural Foundation said on the 27th that Netmarble Game Museum, which marks its first anniversary this year, has been officially registered as the first "Type 1 specialized museum" among game museums in Korea.
Netmarble Game Museum, which opened in March last year, plans to use the registration as a Type 1 specialized museum to create an environment where visitors can enjoy game culture even more. The foundation said, "It is meaningful in that it proves that games are a valuable cultural asset shared across generations, beyond simple entertainment."
Through the special exhibition "Play Joseon: One Move, Beyond the Board" in March, Netmarble Game Museum examines the play culture of the Joseon era and the essential meaning of games today.
Do Ki-uk, head of Netmarble Cultural Foundation, said, "This registration as a Type 1 specialized museum is a meaningful outcome that officially recognizes the historical value and expertise of game materials," adding, "We will continue to expand unique exhibition content that fits the museum's founding purpose through meaningful exhibitions on games, contributing to the spread of game culture."
